Hi, Cindy! Books 1 through 5 of the Musketeers Cycle were published in hardcover by Pegasus Books, a mainstream publisher. Current plans are that Books 6 through 8, which I'm publishing myself as print-on-demand titles, will be available in physical editions only in trade paperback form unless they sell well enough to warrant a hardcover edition (which nowadays are very expensive to produce). However, the trade paperbacks will be substantially similar in appearance to their hardcover predecessors.

In fact, I haven't announced it yet, but the Court of Daggers paperback and ebook have just successfully jumped through all their publication hoops and are now available to order from Amazon. The physical books are print-on-demand, so allow a little extra time for manufacture and delivery.

Hi, Cindy! What I'm doing with the next two musketeers books, Devil's Dance (7) and Shadow of the Bastille (8), is running them in serial publication on Substack and then, when they're complete, compiling and publishing them in book form -- as I did with Court of Daggers. At the current rate of serialization, Devil's Dance will wrap up on Substack toward the end of this year, at which point it will go immediately to book publication while I start the serialization of Shadow of the Bastille. Don't worry, every volume will come out in due course!

The trade paperback of Court of Daggers is in preparation right now (I was just replying to an email from the printer) and will be available within two weeks.

Hi, Jen! It seems unlikely, alas -- we were unable to get an audiobook offer for Book 6, and that will probably be the case for 7 and 8 as well. I'm sorry about that.

Thanks, Billy! I can promise that books 6, 7, & 8 will appear in trade paperback, but I'm not sure about hardcover. Stay tuned!

This is a wonderful project! I hope this one also makes its way to a wonderful John Lee voiced audio production like the others had already!

Thank you for all you're doing!!!

Dear Mr. Ellsworth,

Could someone please reply to me and answer my question. Is Book 7, Devil's Dance available for purchase? I have collected and read books 1 through 6 and look forward to purchasing the remaining books, 7 through 9; however, it appears that at this time, Devil's Dance has not been published.

Is this correct? If so, will it be published and available for purchase in the near future?

Yours truly,

Cindy Sue Reid

Dear Mr. Ellsworth,

I have collected and read your Musketeers series books 1 through 6, and I am very anxious to read Book 7, Devil's Dance. I look forward to purchasing books 7 through 9 to complete the series. I haven't been able to find Devil's Dance for sale yet. Can you kindly advise when it will be available for purchase? Thank you.

Yours truly,

Cindy Sue Reid

One thing that may make the series sell more is if you had Musketeers in the title. EG "The Three Musketeers in the Court of Daggers - Volume 7 of Dumas' Musketeer Series in a new translation" That would tie it to the famous and beloved "Three Musketeers" I am a reader mainly of literature and I was ignoring your translations until I realized that there was a series here to a book I loved in my youth and which I felt was high literature in its own way. I had thought that your books were extensions of the Musketeer book by a modern writer in the same way that there are (awful) new books by Margaret Mitchell or Jane Austen. If you can make it clear that this is Dumas and part of the Musketeer story written by him I think you could sell more copies. Just an Idea. I like the serialization, which as you say, is very authentic for this material.

Thank you so much for what you're doing, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it. I just bought the first four of the Musketeers cycle. Please, if you can, make the next ones available for hardcover print on demand.

Received my book today and know I'm going to love the story.

But the book itself is another thing. The book looks real nice and is a nice size, approx 6" x 9", but the printed words are only 3" x 6" with a 1-1/2" margin all the way around. And don't get me started on the extremely small type. Not sure I'll be able to read even with my reading glasses. Why was it done this way. All that wasted space on the pages!! I've owned hundreds of books and never seen type that small. So disappointed.

If you ever do a reprint, please use bigger type face. I would purchase another copy. I keep rereading the stories.

Thank you for the time and energy you put into translating these wonderful stories.

Ordered mine yesterday from Amazon. Was sad it did not come in hardback like my others. But I will still enjoy it in paperback.

Mr. Ellsworth,

Bless you for your prompt reply. I assume your printer is Pegasus Books and I can order Court of Daggers from them in 2 weeks. I am unfamiliar with print-on-demand titles, so please bear with me. If the order process is otherwise, will you please advise me?

Reading your Musketeer series has truly been one of the great reading adventures I have had in my life time and I am pleased to learn that Court of Daggers will be available soon.

Cindy Sue
